So "Happy Together"

The night started with Akane, Jake, and I grabbing dinner together. We decided to eat fried chicken, french fries, and share a pitcher of beer among us. Oh man, so delicious/unhealthy/great/bad for you/AWESOME. I had oodles of fun talking to those two about the randomest shit ever. It was so gratifying, especially because I had never really hung out with Akane in a small setting before. Happy birthday to her by the way!

After dinner, Akane headed back to the I-house while Jake + I decided to join our other chingoos(James, Ryo, Gelly, Pat, Nina, Crystal) who were at a nearby Noraebang. We busted out some great renditions of some old time classics such as "Bohemiam Rhapsody" and "Happy Together." I was also able to sing about how I was going to get-get-get you drunk.. get you love drunk off my humps. Oh dear. Afterwards, Crystal and Nina decided to head home... while we......

headed to Pats to watch the last installment of the 3-part episode of Southpark where they go to Imagination Land. Oh man, so funny and so brilliant! After we watched South Park, we met up with more chingoos! Angie, Anna, Katharina, and Silvia. We decided to head over to the park nearby Pats and buy 40s. The park had all these awesome exercise equipment machine thingiemuhjiggers which actually appeared to be devices created solely for the purpose of entertaining us!! It was nice to have a mellow night outdoors with some good company. I'm starting to think I could do ANYTHING with my chingoos and have a great time. Sometimes the setting hardly matters.

I'm really surprised at how pleased I am with the friends I've gained here. I know that sometimes you have friends that only work within certain contexts, but I'd be friends with any of my friends here in my "home" setting. I'd actually beg some of them to please please please move to San Francisco to stay with me forever and ever. I was talking with Ryo and Pat the other day.. and I mentioned that it's great because normally when you hang out with a group of people, you only hang one-on-one with a few of the people within that group.. and you're friends with everyone else by default pretty much.. even if you enjoy their company or what have you. But it's great that I feel that I can call any one of these folks to grab lunch or coffee or whatevs and not really think twice about it. Ugh, it actually pains me to think that my time in Korea with these chingoos is about to end come late December. I honestly just can't register it in my head because really? I don't want to. I spend SO much time with them here that I just can't imagine being without them. It's sad, I know. I slowly let myself become attached to some certain people here even though I normally don't get attached at all. And through this, I realized how disgustingly easy it is to never have to change when you don't really let yourself become attached to any person, place, or thing. Wow, is this getting too personal? Probably. So I'm going to stop right here... YEH!

Til the next episode........
