DEAD sexy

I don't think that Halloween is widely celebrated in Korea but thanks to Mentor's Club which happens to cater to international students and to my awesome friends, this Halloween quickly became one of the highest ranked Halloweens in my book. This Halloween thing is starting to grow on me more and more with each passing year... and usually I hate holidays. But, I'll save that for another day.

I'm not quite sure who thought of the zombie mob idea but good job! I wanted to do something that took minimal effort and money on my part... so this worked out pretty nicely. We all decided to have a theme for our zombie costumes... or well, some of us did. Because of my love and admiration for Gelly (o.k. and to be frugal), I decided to be a Gelly-wannabe zombie! A show of adoration through mimicry. Love it. I have my Gelly impression down pretty well... although being a zombie took quite a bit of effort so I didn't actually resemble Gelly in the slightest... except for the shirt that I borrowed from her.. which probably no one noticed anyways. But after copious amounts of alcohol, I was able to conquer the greatest obstacle of all.... correctly and properly doing the Gelly-dance! Gelly proudly exclaimed throughout the night, "YOU'RE DOING IT!! YOU'RE DOING ITTTTT!!" Upon hearing this, I'd say "YESSSSS!!" and do the dance with extra vigor and at a more furious pace. Hells yes. Except it's funny now because I can't seem to do it anymore... because I seem to be putting in too much pelvic action?? Shrug, I guess I can only have one day in the sun. Actually, that's true in more ways than one... I burn easily since I'm so pale....... but I digress.

We first made our way to Festival, land of bad memories and TOO MUCH alcohol. And bad things happening because of TOO MUCH alcohol. Well, this time it was o.k. I suppose. We just went to do some "pre-funking." Afterwards we started walking to the subway station to head over to Catchlight in Hongdae where Mentor's Club was hosting a Halloween party. We decided to zombie-walk there, which is really similar to a drunk person's stagger. We freaked out some Koreans who were probably thinking and muttering to themselves, "Crazy Americans." Ah, such is life I suppose. We got to the club and there was some crazy strobelight action accompanied by some really shitty music. For instance, Britney Spears' "Gimme More".. NO. PLEASE DON'T GIMME MORE. O.k. that was unnecessarily cheesy but that pretty much wraps of my feelings towards the selection of music by the DJs. Oh well, we just wanted to get our dance on. At one point, we decided to jump on stage... I'm pretty much the shortest and most uncoordinated of the group, so James shouted out "Someone help Hannah!!".. but somehow, I managed to pull myself up on the stage where we had our moment of brilliance. We got kicked off but were able to return to the stage later to compete in the costume contest. Someone dressed up as Hardo Gay! Youtube it, it's fucking hilarious. When I saw him I shouted "HARDO GAY!!" and he was like "YEH!! HOW DO YOU KNOW??" and I replied, "I LOVE HARDO GAY!!" which could really be horible if it was taken out of context....... or maybe it's not even so great in context. Anyways, his costume was pretty spot-on and he even did the disgusting gyrating dance! Yeh YOU WORK IT HARDO GAY! When it was our turn to present our lovely zombie mob costumes, Nina accompanied us and shouted "AHH Zombies! Zombies everywhere!" when we all pounced on her and pretended to devour her brains. Awesome. O.k. even though I think we DEFINITELY should have won, we lost out to some girls dressed in the traditional Korean hanboks. Ugh. Biased much? Oh well, I got some free ugly shirt and a salad bar coupon. Good enough for me!

So the night was a blast. Man, I'm really on fire with these blog updates! The next ones are coming soon so stay tuned!
